The IPL 2026 auction is currently being held in Abu Dhabi with 369 players going under the hammer for a chance to be part of the world’s richest and most popular T20 league.
A total of 77 slots are to be filled in the mini-auction, with 31 spots reserved for foreign players. INR 2 Crore is set as the highest reserve price with 40 players opting to be in the highest bracket.
Australian all-rounder Cameron Green (INR 25.20 Crore to KKR) stole the show with his hefty price tag in the first set, while Venkatesh Iyer was the most expensive buy (INR 7 Crore to RCB) in the second set.
Capped wicketkeeper-batters were up for grabs in the third set, but surprisingly, some of the leading names of world cricket went unsold.
England’s Jonny Bairstow and Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz failed to attract a bid. Another English glovesman Jamie Smith too remained unsold.
However, England’s Ben Duckett bagged a deal with Delhi Capitals at his base price of INR 2 Crore. New Zealand's Finn Allen was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders for his base price of INR 2 Crore.
