The IPL is all set to witness one of the most high-profile transfer deals in recent times, involving Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).
According to multiple reports, the negotiations have reached the final stage, with five-time champions offering two players in exchange of RR skipper Sanju Samson. All-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran will reportedly go the other way as part of the deal.
According to Cricbuzz, the deal could be finalised in the next 48 hours as all three players have agreed to the trade.
"Consent has been obtained from all three players and the Expression of Interest process has been initiated. All three have signed on the dotted line, but the process will take some time to culminate," the report quoted a franchise official as saying.
However, both the franchises are yet to communicate the details regarding the trade to the BCCI.
"Understandably, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is required to be involved, and as of Monday (November 10) evening, neither franchise had officially informed the IPL or BCCI authorities. A top official told Cricbuzz that the matter has not yet been brought to their notice - something an official from one of the two franchises also confirmed," the report added.
Moreover, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) is required to complete the process since one of the three players involved in the deal is overseas. In this case, NOC will have to be obtained from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for Curran.
Samson has represented RR for 11 years and after the conclusion of 2025 season, the wicketkeeper-batter had asked the franchise to release or trade him.
Jadeja, who was part of the Royals squad in the first two IPL editions, has spent a majority of his career at CSK where he has not just been one of their marquee players, but was also handed leadership duties before the 2022 edition.
On the other hand, Sam Curran has been a part of Chennai as well as Punjab-based franchises.
