Ravindra Jadeja’s tenure in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise is reportedly set to end as the franchise has nearly finalized talks with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) to trade him and possibly Sam Curran to the Jaipur-based franchise to bring in Sanju Samson.

Jadeja will likely rejoin the Royals after 16 years, having been a member of their camp during the inaugural 2008 and 2009 seasons, assuming the agreement goes through, albeit nothing is final yet.

Under the late Shane Warne, Jadeja made his IPL debut in 2008 with the Rajasthan Royals. He remained with the franchise for the next season before joining the now-defunct Kochi Tuskers in 2011. Before the massive auctions in 2018 and 2025, the Chennai Super Kings kept him as a member of their core team after acquiring him in 2012.

Before the 2022 season, Jadeja was named captain, but MS Dhoni took over after CSK won just one of their first eight games. He was a part of three of CSK's five title victories, including his last-over heroics against the Gujarat Titans in the 2023 Final.

Overall, Jadeja has played 254 IPL matches, the fifth-most by any player, and is CSK's leading wicket-taker with 143 scalps. Along with Dhoni, he holds the franchise record for most Player-of-the-Match accolades (16).

Jadeja was fairly active on social media, particularly during the IPL seasons, when he frequently expressed his support and love for the Chennai franchise, along with a few mysterious remarks.
