IND v WI 2026: WATCH- Vaibhav Sooryavanshi deals in sixes during net session ahead of second T20I in Ranchi

The second T20I will be played at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi | PTITeen Indian batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was seen tonking huge sixes in the nets ahead of the second T20I between India and the West Indies that will be played on October 9, 2026, at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi.

Sooryavanshi has not gotten a chance in the middle despite winning the Player of the Series in Zimbabwe T20Is. He featured in the Asian Games 2026 recently but was benched for the Afghanistan T20Is and the first T20I against the West Indies in Lucknow.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was really hitting his stride during the open net session on the field before the match. He was showing off his powerful hitting, with the left-handed batter smashing some fantastic sixes while head coach Gautam Gambhir and the rest of the support team watched closely.

First, Sooryavanshi moved his feet well and hit an inside-out shot over long-off. Then, he played another similar lofted inside-out shot, which looked like an extension of his drive. After that, the young player was seen dropping to one knee and powerfully hitting a slog sweep towards the leg side. He also used his feet to smash the ball straight down the ground, past the bowler's head, for another big hit.

Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma opened the innings for India in the first T20I in Lucknow. However, Samson only managed 11 runs in 9 balls, and it remains to be seen if the senior opener makes way for the 15-year-old or gets more chances to find his rhythm.
