The BCCI, on September 25, 2025, announced the 15-member Indian team squad for the upcoming two-Test series against the West Indies. This will be the first Test series for the Shubman Gill-led side after the 2-2 draw against England in the UK.

The first Test of the series will begin on October 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The second test of the series will be played from October 10 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. These two tests will be part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27.

Rishabh Pant missed out on selection as he continues rehab and recovery from his fractured foot. Shubman Gill remains the captain of the side, while Ravindra Jadeja was named the vice-captain of the side in Pant's absence.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, and Ravindra Jadeja retained their places from the England series. Devdutt Padikkal was named in the squad, as the BCCI moved on from Karun Nair. This marked Padikkal’s return to the Indian Test team since the Australia tour. Dhruv Jurel was named as the primary wicketkeeper, with Narayan Jagadeesan as the backup keeper.

Apart from Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav were named in the spin department. Nitish Kumar Reddy was included as the pace-bowling all-rounder and marks his first appearance since hurting his knee during the England tour.

Jasprit Bumrah was named in the Indian squad, with Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna bolstering the pace attack against the West Indies.
