India and South Africa are clashing in the second T20I of the five-match series on December 11, 2025. This match is being played at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, New Chandigarh. India came into this match having won the first game in Cuttack.
Varun Chakaravarthy got the early wicket of Reeza Hendricks for 8 runs, but Quinton de Kock went on a rampage at the other end. He raced off to his 50 in just 26 balls, and Arshdeep Singh was one of his victims, as he had hammered two sixes off the pacer in his first spell.
Arshdeep Singh came back to bowl the 11th over, and De Kock welcomed him with a six first ball, and this led to the left-arm pacer losing his line in an effort to bowl wide of off-stump to De Kock.
He then bowled two wide balls and then a dot ball. However, Arshdeep bowled four consecutive wide balls, testing the patience of his captain and the head coach. While he didn’t concede any more boundaries in the over, Arshdeep Singh still went for 18 runs, having bowled seven wides in the over.
Arshdeep Singh's over went for 6, Wd, Wd, 0, Wd, Wd, Wd, Wd, 1, 2, 1, Wd, 1, and it is now the joint-most balls bowled in an over in a T20I involving Full Member teams.
After he bowled yet another wide ball in the over, cameras caught Gautam Gambhir shouting at Arshdeep Singh, but he restrained himself after seeing himself on the big screen.
