Arshdeep Singh, the Indian pacer, finally got legendary India batter Virat Kohli to appear in a reel with him on his social media. This happened after India defeated South Africa in the third ODI of the three-match series in Vizag on December 6.
India finally won the toss after 20 ODIs and opted to bowl first. Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna took four wickets each as South Africa managed 270, thanks mainly to Quinton de Kock’s 106, Temba Bavuma’s 48, and contributions from Dewald Brevis (29) and Matthew Breetzke (24).
In response, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma (75) added 155 runs for the first wicket. Then, as Jaiswal anchored one end, Virat Kohli got to work and smashed 65* in 45 balls, while the southpaw opener made his maiden ODI century. Jaiswal made 116* with 12 fours and 2 sixes as India won by 9 wickets and 61 balls to spare.
India took the series 2-1, with Yashasvi Jaiswal winning the Player of the Match and Virat Kohli getting the Player of the Tournament for his 302 runs with two centuries.
As the players stood with the trophy, Arshdeep, who was standing next to Kohli, filmed a video. In the popular video, the quick bowler reminded Kohli that if the target had been higher, he might have scored his third consecutive century.
“Paaji, run kam rehgaye, century aaj pakki thi waise (The target wasn’t big enough, brother; otherwise a century seemed certain),” said Arshdeep.
Kohli fired back with a witty reply: “Toss jeet gaye, nahi toh teri bhi pakki thi dew mein (Thankfully we won the toss; otherwise, you would have been hit for a century in the dew!).”
Now, another angle to the video has gone viral that shows the BTS (Behind the Scenes) of the viral post. It shows Kuldeep Yadav and Dhruv Jurel watching Arshdeep and Kohli discussing the video and then filming it. Afterwards, all of the players break into laughter.
