India and South Africa clashed in the third and final ODI on December 6, 2025, in Vishakhapatnam. This was the series-deciding encounter that saw India winning the toss in an ODI after 20 consecutive games, and KL Rahul opted to bowl first.
Quinton de Kock made 108, and Temba Bavuma made 48, while Dewald Brevis (29) and Matthew Breetzke (24) did well. Indian bowlers came to the party with Kuldeep Yadav taking 4/41, and Prasidh Krishna overcame an initial poor performance to finish with 4/66.
India openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 155 runs for the first wicket in 25.5 overs. Rohit Sharma belted 75 in 73 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes before being dismissed by Keshav Maharaj.
However, Yashasvi Jaiswal carried on and hit his maiden ODI century, remaining unbeaten on 116 in 121 balls with 12 fours and 2 sixes. He added a further 116 runs with Virat Kohli, who was in a hurry as he smashed 65* in 45 balls with 6 fours and 3 huge sixes.
One of the six that he hit off Corbin Bosch was particularly special, as it was Virat Kohli’s own version of the ‘no-look’ six. Bosch’s delivery angled in to Kohli, who just lifted it over deep mid-wicket for a huge six.
