India and New Zealand are clashing in the second T20I of the five-match series on January 23, 2026. This match is being played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur, and India leads the series 1-0.
India captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and chose to bowl first. India had to make two changes as Kuldeep Yadav came in for injured Axar Patel, and Harshit Rana replaced Jasprit Bumrah. New Zealand made three changes, bringing in Tim Seifert, Matt Henry, and Zak Foulkes in for Tim Robinson, Kyle Jamieson, and Kristin Clarke.
Devon Conway started well, hitting 18 runs off Arshdeep Singh in the first over of the Kiwi innings, including 3 fours and 1 six. Tim Seifert also did well, hammering 24 runs in 13 balls with five fours.
However, in the 4th over, bowled by Harshit Rana, Conway went for one too many shots and was dismissed. Conway’s effort to loft Rana over mid-off resulted in a mishit, and Hardik Pandya took a decent catch despite a bit of bobble.
In celebrations, Harshit Rana cheekily held up four fingers, a nod to having dismissed Conway four times on this tour, after getting the better of him three times in the ODI series.
