Having lost the first two ODIs against India in Nagpur and Cuttack, England are facing a must-win situation in the third and final game in Ahmedabad to avoid a series sweep.
On the eve of the third ODI, England's swashbuckling opener Ben Duckett stated that the visitors are unfazed about getting whitewashed by India.
The Three Lions were let down by their batters in both the matches. They tried to play an attacking brand of cricket in the initial overs, but eventually ran out of gas after one of the opener's departures.
While many feel the series loss is a worrying sign for England ahead of the Champions Trophy, Duckett reckons that their goal is to win the ICC tournament.
The southpaw went on to say that England don't mind losing 0-3 to India as long as they beat the Rohit Sharma-led side in the final of the showpiece event.
"We have come here for one thing and that is to win the Champions Trophy. If we lose 3-0 to India, I don't care as long as we beat them in the final of the Champions Trophy. It's about peaking at the right time. We've been close against India and been nowhere near our best. We will always take positives," Duckett told Sky Sports.
England posted a below-par 304 on a flat Cuttack pitch during the second ODI after Ben Duckett and Phil Salt made the most of the powerplay.
While Duckett (65) and Joe Root (69) managed to score half-centuries, they failed to reach the three-figure mark. The visitors ended up losing the match by four wickets as India overhauled the target in 44.3 overs.
Duckett admitted that he was not satisfied with his knock but said he will continue to bat with the same approach.
"I am not content with getting 65. But I wouldn't change anything I did. Until I got out I played nicely. [McCullum] will never have a go at me for trying to hit a left-arm spinner for six over midwicket with a shot I play time and again. Stick to the options we practise, there will be no complaints inside the changing room," he remarked.
The third ODI between India and England will be played in Ahmedabad on Wednesday (February 12).
