IND v ENG 2025: WATCH- Raghu, Team India throwdown specialist, stopped by Nagpur police from entering team hotel

Raghu is a throwdown specialist for Indian team, picked by Sachin Tendulkar himself.

Raghu stopped by Nagpur police from entering India team hotel | XRaghavendra Dwivedi aka Raghu, India's most experienced support staff member, who was handpicked by Sachin Tendulkar in 2011 as a throwdown specialist and has since become one of the squad's most popular members, was prevented by police on Monday from entering the team hotel in Nagpur.

In a video that has now gone viral, two police officers in front of the Radisson Blu hotel in Nagpur couldn't recognize Raghavendra, also known as 'Raghu.'. They were spotted stopping Raghu on his way into the hotel, thinking him an intruder.

It was only after the photographers present there shouted, "Arey, coach hai who. Team ke saath hai. Bus se utra hai. (He's a coach... member of the team. He just deboarded the bus”; did the police let Raghu get into the team hotel?

Raghu, who is always known to sport a smile, handled the situation pretty well. He was allowed to collect his bags and enter the hotel afterwards.

Raghu contributes significantly to the success of the Indian cricket team. As the throwdown specialist, his work behind the scenes has been critical in ensuring the team's batting strength remains at its best.

Raghu, an important component of the Indian team's support crew, delivers precise throwdowns to the batters while simulating various match scenarios. His specialty is reproducing deliveries from fast bowlers, spinners, and even bouncing balls, allowing players to adjust to various conditions and problems that may arise during a match.

Raghu's tremendous work ethic and ability to reach speeds of more than 150 in throwdowns earned him a spot on the Karnataka state squad. He quickly became a favorite among the players that came to NCA, and on Tendulkar's recommendation, he became a regular member of India's support staff.

His efforts have been instrumental in preparing India's top-order players, like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill, to face some of the world's finest bowlers.
