Former India opener Aakash Chopra lavished rich praises for opener Shubman Gill, after his brilliant century in the fifth Test against England, underway at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. He added 171 runs with captain Rohit Sharma for the second wicket.
While Sharma got out for 103 runs, Shubman Gill made 110 runs, his second century in this series. He hit 12 fours and 5 sixes.
Aakash Chopra felt Shubman Gill possesses all the qualities to become one of the greatest of this generation.

“I am convinced that Shubman Gill has the DNA of greatness because of the way he bats. A lot of things are important while batting. Scoring runs is one thing but the other thing is to get an understanding of how to score runs,” Chopra said during an interaction on Colors Cineplex.
After struggling in the first Test, Gill roared back in form in the Vizag Test, scoring 104 in the second innings. He then made 0 and 91 in the Rajkot Test, while made 38 and 52* in the Ranchi Test win.
Referring to his roaring comeback, Aakash Chopra said, “Everyone has to score runs to reach here or else you wouldn’t have reached here, it’s very simple. However, at times it takes a lifetime to understand when, how, and against whom you have the most chances of scoring runs."
