Legendary cricketer Geoffrey Boycott raised concerns about England's 'Bazball' approach after they lost the ongoing five-match Test series to India, with the final game set to be played in Dharamshala on March 7.

England captain Ben Stokes and head coach Brendon McCullum have been promoting an aggressive playing style ever since they took charge, but the Three Lions are still struggling to win consistently against top teams like Australia and India.

Presently, the England team is ranked eighth in the ICC World Test Championship standings for 2023–25, with only three wins in nine matches.

Meanwhile, the legendary opener Geoffrey Boycott admitted that 'Bazball' adds excitement to Test cricket, but their inability to beat strong teams is worrying.

Geoffrey Boycott wrote in his column for The Telegraph: “The batting cost them winning the Ashes and it lost them the series against India. In this series, they have had odd moments when someone has scored a good hundred. But they have been in isolation and there has been no consistency.”

He also criticized England's reckless approach during the Test series in India. He said that playing fearlessly is commendable, but their eagerness to attack every delivery leads to their dismissals.

Boycott signed off by saying, “To play with no fear is good, but at times England were reckless and too cocky about how they were going to smack everybody around. Getting out is part of the game but getting yourself out is silly.”
