He became the 313th player to receive his India Test cap, which he got from head coach Rahul Dravid.

And soon enough, Akash Deep made a huge impact as he clean bowled Zak Crawley. But unfortunately, he had overstepped and the umpire called it a no-ball. But then, Akash picked his first Test wicket soon enough, as he had Ben Duckett caught behind.

And then in the same over, had Ollie Pope trapped in front of the stumps. India took DRS and the TV umpire judged in the home side’s favor. Akash Deep then picked the prized scalp of Crawley as well, who was bowled in the exact same way before, that time off a no ball.

Akash Deep's remarkable debut has not only announced his arrival on the international stage but also raised expectations for his future contributions to Indian cricket.
