Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan were the heroes of the Indian second innings in the recently concluded third Test against England in Rajkot. India registered a record 434-run win over the visitors and went 2-1 up in the five-Test series.
India had done well in the second innings with Jaiswal scoring 104* before retiring hurt and then Shubman Gill made 91 runs. But then Jaiswal returned to resume his innings and got Sarfaraz Khan’s assistance and the duo tore apart the England bowling lineup. They added 172* runs for the 5th wicket in just 158 balls.
This helped India post 430/*4d and set England a target of 557 runs to win the Test. But Ravindra Jadeja’s 5/41 ensured that the visitors were bundled out for 122 runs and India won by 434 runs, their biggest-ever victory in Tests by runs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was in terrific form in the second innings and as he approached his second consecutive double ton, Sarfaraz Khan, who is his senior in the Mumbai team, asked him to be patient. Jaiswal was getting a bit impatient on 199 as he had to spend a handful of balls just one run short.
But Sarfaraz asked him to be patient and not take any risky runs. Incidentally, Sarfaraz was run out in a similar situation as Ravindra Jadeja went for a single for his century, but the mix-up resulted in the debutant’s wicket.
