Legendary Indian spinner Anil Kumble was highly impressed with wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav’s exceptional bowling performance on Day 3 of the ongoing third Test against England in Rajkot.

With R Ashwin withdrawn from the Rajkot Test due to a family emergency after achieving the milestone of 500 Test wickets on Day 2, Kuldeep (2/77) took the opportunity with both hands and delivered an impressive performance with the ball.

Kuldeep made a significant impact by dismissing England’s centurion Ben Duckett for 153 runs and Jonny Bairstow for a duck to ensure India remained in the game on Day 3 of the Rajkot Test. After England’s innings, Anil Kumble and Nick Knight lauded Kuldeep for troubling the England batters who appeared clueless against his bowling.

Anil Kumble said on Jio Cinema: “Kuldeep bowled exceptionally well. The trajectory that he bowled to the left-handers. Once he got Jonny Bairstow with the LBW decision, he bowled really well.”

Kumble added, “I thought the trajectory was the key, much quicker today in terms of pace and also the lines that he bowled. He got a bit of turn from the surface and his variations were impeccable, sometimes even troubled Dhruv Jurel behind the stumps.”

Nick Knight said on the same show, “He was unplayable at times, I think, because England's batters were struggling to pick him as well. I'm not quite sure if there's a little bit more work, perhaps off the surface now.”

Knight signed off by saying, “That's perhaps exaggerated because they're losing wickets, and they're starting, and you've got new batters. So, it looks like this, perhaps more going on than there is. But I thought he was terrific.”
