Anand Mahindra, the Chairperson of Mahindra & Mahindra, has extended a heartfelt gesture to Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan's father, Naushad, by offering him a Thar SUV as a token of appreciation for being an inspirational father.

Naushad's unwavering support and dedication to Sarfaraz's cricketing journey over the past 15 years have been truly remarkable, and their hard work and enduring the agonizingly long wait finally paid off when Anil Kumble handed the India cap to the Mumbai star in Rajkot.

Sarfaraz, at the age of 26, fulfilled his father’s dream of representing India, having made his debut in the ongoing third Test against England in Rajkot on Thursday, February 15. Mahindra’s generous gesture for his 52-year-old father adds only extra joy to the special occasion.

The moment when Sarfaraz received his Test cap from the legendary Indian spinner Kumble, it was the victory for his entire family—his wife, brother, and especially his father, who couldn't contain his tears after seeing his son become an Indian cricketer.

After the emotional moment between the father and son went viral on social media, Mr. Mahindra could not help but show great admiration for the duo and gifted him a Thar.

Sharing a clip of Sarfaraz getting his India cap on X, Anand Mahindra wrote: “Hard work. Courage. Patience. What better qualities than those for a father to inspire in a child? For being an inspirational parent, it would be my privilege & honour if Naushad Khan would accept the gift of a Thar.”

Notably, Naushad hails from a modest background and works for the Western Railways. Despite facing financial challenges, he worked hard from selling toffees and cucumbers on trains to selling trackpants to make ends meet and make his son a cricketer.
