Indian team recorded a brilliant win in the second Test against England which was played in Vizag. India came into this match after losing the first Test of the five-match series in Hyderabad.
India had scored 396 in the first innings after winning the toss and choosing to bat. Yashasvi Jaiswal starred with a brilliant 209. For England, James Anderson, Shoaib Bashir, and Rehan Ahmed took three wickets apiece.
England replied with 253 runs with Zak Crawley top-scoring with 76 runs. Jasprit Bumrah starred with the ball taking 6/45 and Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets. Leading by 143 runs, Team India, buoyed by Shubman Gill’s 104, posted 255 in the second innings.
Set 399 runs to win, England’s charge was led by Zak Crawley’s 73 and then Ben Foakes and Tom Hartley made 36 each. But once again, the Indian bowlers were too good for England on a crumbling day 4 pitch.
Jasprit Bumrah took 3/46 and R Ashwin took 3/72 runs as England was bowled out for 292 runs and India won the Test by 106 runs. India also leveled the series 1-1 with the third match to be played in Rajkot from February 15 onwards.
