Ex-England captain Sir Alastair Cook heaped praise on Jasprit Bumrah for his outstanding display of reverse swing, saying the Indian pacer bowled deliveries at challenging angles, making him extremely difficult to play on Day 2 of the ongoing second Test in Vizag.

Bumrah's impressive six-wicket haul helped Team India restrict England to 253, giving the hosts a significant 143-run lead in the ongoing second Test in Vizag. Meanwhile, the former England captain credited Bumrah for changing the course of the game with his remarkable performance.

Alastair Cook in an interview with TNT Sports: “Bumrah has carried India through today and has single-handedly changed the course of this game.”

The legendary batter further mentioned that Ollie Pope’s wicket by Bumrah with an in-swinging yorker was the turning point of England’s first innings at Vizag. Cook noted, “Bumrah jumped in and ripped the heart out of the England batting line-up.”

He also mentioned that he had faced Bumrah several times during his career, but the pacer wasn’t that difficult to play at that time. Cook noted, “I've faced Bumrah a number of times, but I don't think I've ever faced him bowling as well as that.”

Praising Bumrah's unorthodox style, the Indian pacer said: “His awkwardness, his different angles, he creates a different vision for the batter, and it makes him sometimes unplayable.”

Cook signed off by saying on Bumrah's performance against Joe Root, “A couple of those balls, the Bumrah spell against Joe Root, is actually very high-quality reverse swing bowling.”
