Former England batter and commentator Kevin Pietersen was not happy with Yashasvi Jaiswal's shot selection post completing his double ton, as he chose to take on legendary pacer James Anderson in the ongoing second Test in Visakhapatnam.

Young Indian talent achieved a remarkable milestone on Day 2 of the ongoing second Test against England by becoming the third youngest Indian to score a Test double century. Jaiswal played a magical knock of 209 runs, contributing more than half of India’s first-innings total of 396 runs.

Throughout his innings, Jaiswal displayed remarkable composure, particularly against the challenging deliveries from pacer Anderson.

However, his patience waned after reaching the double-hundred mark, leading to an ambitious lofted shot over cover against Anderson. Unfortunately, the timing was not good, and Jonny Bairstow took an easy catch to end Jaiswal's outstanding innings.

Well, during a conversation with Sports18 after the first session on Day 2, Pietersen suggested that Jaiswal could have waited for the spinners to adopt an aggressive approach. He believed that this strategy might have allowed the young opener to freely attack the spin bowlers.

Kevin Pietersen said: “He has the temperament to play the situation. The one thing he would be kicking himself about is he went off at Anderson. He probably should have waited. He should tried to hit a six every ball against spinners. It was Anderson's last couple of balls.”

He signed off by saying, “This ground is not big enough for Jaiswal, and he only has to half-connect against spinners to hit a six. We would've seen plenty of fireworks, but now, the game has moved on.”
