Yashasvi Jaiswal shined on day one of the ongoing second Test between India and England. The match got underway in Vizag on February 2, 2024. India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first.
Rajat Patidar made his India Test debut, while Kuldeep Yadav and Mukesh Kumar were included in the playing XI as well. They replaced KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Siraj in the Indian team.
Rohit Sharma fell for 14 runs to debutant Shoaib Bashir, while Shubman Gill scored a quick 34 in 48 balls before falling to to James Anderson. There was a small partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer (27), which was broken by Tom Hartley.

But Jaiswal continued to grind it out and his knock was completely different from what he had played in the first innings of the first Test in Hyderabad. He reached his 50 in 89 balls and completed a brilliant hundred, his second in Tests in 151 balls with 11 fours and 3 sixes.
He reached his second Test in style as he hammered Tom Hartley over the long on for a huge six. He then celebrated by taking off his helmet and blowing kisses to the crowd.
