Former England spinner Monty Panesar has an interesting suggestion for the Ben Stokes-led England team on how to keep Virat Kohli in check in the upcoming Test series in India.

Team India is all set to host England in a five-match Test series, which is set to get underway on January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.

Panesar advised Stokes and his England team to play with Kohli's ego and even sledge him with the "chokers" tag, reminding him of Team India’s ongoing ICC trophy drought during the Test series.

Speaking to India.com, Monty Panesar said: “Play with his ego and get psychologically stuck into him. They should also say things to him like, you guys are chokers when it comes to the final. They should sledge him on those lines because Stokes has won the ODI and T20 WC and Kohli has not and that is going to mentally pinch him.”

The former England spinner also predicted that the senior pacer James Anderson will keep Virat Kohli in check in the Test series and get his wicket again. Notably, Anderson dismissed Kohli four times in the 2014 series, but the star pacer is yet to dismiss the former Indian skipper in India.

Panesar signed off by saying, “I think it will be James Anderson and I think it will be reverse swingwing that would get Kohli.”
