Virat Kohli's journey from his early days to becoming a top cricketer reflects his sheer commitment to fitness, which played a key role in his success on the field. He's transformed from a chubby cricketer to a lean athlete and one of the fittest athletes in the world.
The dashing right-hander’s dedication and sacrifices have not only shaped his career but also made him an inspiration for aspiring cricketers across the world. In the recent 3rd T20I against Afghanistan in Bengaluru, Kohli showcased his live-wire athleticism, and his exceptional fielding earned him the 'Fielder of the Series' award from Indian fielding coach T Dilip.
During the award ceremony, Dilip shared a story about how the former Indian skipper once refused to field in slips and also highlighted Kohli’s commitment and versatility on the field.

T Dilip said while announcing Kohli as the best fielder in the T20I series: “This guy (Virat) has shown time and again in split-second decision-making. The way he keeps coming, saving runs, putting dives, going for hotspots, you can’t take your eyes off none other than Virat Kohli.
He won two medals in the World Cup. I still remember in West Indies, when he told me that he doesn't want to stand in slips, wanted to do in short or fine-leg; challenging the youngsters that he wanted to be the best in the World Cup, and he showed that.”
Dilip added, “This is the intensity the man gives to the team. He not only does his job so well but apart from that he inspires everyone. It is a great opportunity to play along with him. I would like the other youngsters to come up and start replicating half of what he does, the whole team will look different. And today's winner is none other than Virat Kohli.”
Dilip signed off by hailing the young sensation Rinku Singh, “Your athleticism is outstanding.”
