On his second marriage anniversary, Virat Kohli put on a show with the bat to help India register a series-clinching 67-run victory over West Indies in the third T20I at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Wednesday (December 11).

Asked to bat first, India got off to a scintillating start as the duo of Rohit Sharma (71 off 34 balls) and KL Rahul (91 off 56 balls) added 135 runs for the opening wicket inside 12 overs. However, it was Kohli’s unbeaten 70 off 29 balls – his fastest T20I fifty – that took the hosts to a mammoth score of 240/3 in 20 overs.

The Indian captain smashed 4 fours & 7 sixes in his dazzling knock. And when he was walking off after the completion of India’s innings, he blew a kiss to the stands and raised his bat in a celebratory gesture.

Kohli had tied the knot with Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, who was in the stands at the Wankhede for the series-deciding T20I, on December 11 in 2017.

Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony after India’s comprehensive win, Virat said: “It was a pretty special innings and also being our second wedding anniversary, it was a special gift. It was a special night and one of the best innings I have played.”
