Team India is playing the West Indians in the second T20I of the series at the Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram. Coach Ravi Shastri looked in a jovial mood as local boy Sanju Samson received a round of applause from the crowd.

The home side won the first game of the series quite comfortably after the skipper’s scintillating knock. KL Rahul also supported him with a handy contribution of 62 off 40 balls. Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant also contributed with a quickfire knock of 18 runs off 9 balls. It was this contribution that mattered the most for the local boy Samson, whose only chance to get into the squad was if Pant had failed.

However, it did not matter much to the crowd at the ground. As Samson walked onto the field before the start of the game, he received huge applause from the fans as they cheered ‘Sanju Sanju’. He was all smiles and appreciated the crowd for their support. Coach Ravi Shastri also found the cheers scintillating as he mocked a punch on Samson’s face.
