Pacer Navdeep Saini earned the ‘Player-of-the-Series’ award after India’s thumping 2-0 series win over Sri Lanka by virtue of a comprehensive 78-run victory in the third T20I at Pune on Friday (January 10).

Saini claimed five wickets in two games that were played in the series. He impressed one and all with his ferocious pace, inswinging yorker and sharp bouncer.

The 27-year-old might have made a name for himself with heroics in First-Class cricket, but the seamer said he is now finding it easier to bowl with the white ball.

"When I used to play with the red ball earlier, I used to find bowling with the white ball difficult," Saini said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

"But now after practicing, I have been finding it easier and am improving. My seniors have been helping me as well, telling me how to bowl in different situations," he added.

In the third T20I, Saini returned with the bowling figures of 3.5-0-28-3. Kusal Perera, Dhananjaya de Silva and Lasith Malinga were his victims.

Reflecting on his success, the young paceman said bowling quick comes naturally to him and he takes care of his fitness.

"Bowling fast comes naturally to me. I look after my gym and diet and playing for India is a big deal. I have been playing with the red ball only for the last four-five years, before that I was playing with the tennis ball only," he concluded.
