India’s senior opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan said he really enjoyed playing on bouncy tracks of the Maharashtra Cricket Stadium, Pune in the recent three-match ODI series against England in Pune.

Dhawan was dropped from India’s T20I squad after playing in the first T20I in Ahmedabad but was recalled in the first ODI and the left-hander made the most of the opportunity by hitting a brilliant knock of 98 off 106 balls against England Maharashtra Cricket Stadium.

However, the opener was dismissed cheaply for just 4 runs in the second ODI as Team India lost the game by 6 wickets with England leveling the three-match ODI series in Pune.

But in the series decider ODI on Sunday (March 28), Dhawan scored another brilliant fifty, 67 runs off 56 balls laced with 10 fours to help India post 329 that they successfully defended to win the game by 7 runs to clinch the ODI series against England in Pune.

After India’s three-match series 2-1 win, Dhawan said he enjoyed his time in the ODI series and made the most of his chances against England having accumulated 171 runs in the home series.

Dhawan told host broadcaster Star Sports, “I was always in the groove. Once I got the chance, I made the most of it. It's a good feeling to bat like this, I really enjoyed it. I was playing domestic cricket, I was preparing for it and that was the best match practice I could get coming into this series.”

He signed off by saying, “The wicket was good for the last two matches and it stayed true today as well. I enjoy playing on bouncy tracks.”
