Former England skipper Michael Vaughan while questioning premier England pacer Jofra Archer’s injury said that why the latter’s hand wasn't taped when he played in the Test and T20I series against India if he sustained a cut on his hand in January.
England pacer Jofra Archer's elbow injury flared up during the recently concluded Test series between India and England which saw him missing the two Test matches.
He, however, returned in England’s XI and played all the five T20I matches and then later made himself unavailable for the ongoing ODI series against India and the first half of the IPL 2021, keeping the mind the packed schedule of England this year.
The Barbados-born pacer will now undergo a surgical procedure on his right hand on Monday, March 29 as reported by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

However ECB also reported that Jofra Archer suffered a cut to his hand at home in January before flying to India for the Test series. The ECB’s medical team managed that injury, and it did not impact his selection.
Former England skipper Michael Vaughan reacted to the ECB’s statement of Archer having cut to his hand before flying to India’ said that why the pacer’s hand wasn't taped when he played in the Test and T20I series against India if he sustained a cut on his hand.
"Cut his hand ??? Why wasn't his hand taped up for the Tests & T20s he played then if it happened in Jan??????" Michael Vaughan Tweeted.
However, surgery in Archer’s bowling hand has put his participation in IPL 2021 in massive doubt. The cash-rich tournament begins on 9th April with a high octane clash between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chennai.
