IND v ENG 2021: Michael Vaughan feels India should sit out KL Rahul for the series decider

Vaughan doesn't think an out-of-form KL Rahul would be good for Team India in final T20I.

India opener KL Rahul has failed to find his touch in the ongoing T20I series against England. He has managed to score in double-digit only once in four innings and his highest score is just 14.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan doesn't want to include Rahul in India's playing XI for the series decider on Saturday (March 20). The series is currently leveled at 2-2 and whoever wins the final T20I will take the trophy.

Rahul has scores of 1, 0, 0, and 14 in the four innings of the series. His form is a concern for the team although they have good options for the opening spot. Recently, Ishan Kishan was given an opportunity at the opening spot and he scored a half-century.

Vaughan said he would like to go with Kishan in place of Rahul for the fifth T20I. "KL Rahul doesn't play, simple. You can't look at this other than a one-off game and who is the best player at the minute, who is playing with the most clarity and confidence. Ishan Kishan will open the batting," he said during a discussion on Cricbuzz.

"For me, KL Rahul is not being thrown out of the team forever but at this stage, he is not playing to the confidence, he is struggling for form, so Ishan Kishan will come in to open the batting with Rohit. More Mumbai Indians, there you go," added Vaughan.

India and England will play a three-match ODI series after the final T20I at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday.
