England pacer Stuart Broad came in defense of Dawid Malan who was involved in the controversial catch to get rid of India's Suryakumar Yadav in the fourth T20I. There was uncertainty over the catch and the on-field umpire went to the third umpire Virender Sharma for a fair decision.

The on-field umpire gave the soft-signal out and with no conclusive evidence for the third umpire despite multiple replays and a close look of the catch, he stayed with the soft-signal and ruled against the Indian batsman.

Former England spinner Graeme Swann, who is also a part of the commentary panel, called the decision a "stinker". "Personally, and do bear in mind that as a bowler I thought everything was out, I think that was a stinking decision," Swann wrote on Twitter.

There was a shock in the Indian dressing room and even the fans were fuming after the decision by the TV umpire. Broad felt for Malan and tweeted that the Englishman would be getting harsh comments from angry fans on social media.

"It’s the “soft signal” which is odd. Hard for off-field umpire to overturn. ‘Let’s go upstairs cause I don’t have a clue but I’m guessing (soft signal) it’s out.’

"Malan’s Twitter feed will be ugly- but he wouldn’t have known the ball hit the ground diving forward at pace," he said.

Yadav was batting in a good flow and it looked like he would easily get a big score. But his innings came to an end on 57 runs off 31 deliveries. However, India went on to win the match by 8 runs and levelled the series 2-2, with the decider to be played on March 20.
