India and England faced each other in the third game of the five-match T20I series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday (March 16).
Asked to bat first, the hosts posted 156/6 in 20 overs. Skipper Virat Kohli was the lone warrior with the bat, scoring 77* off 46 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes. Apart from Kohli, none of the Indian batsmen managed to touch the 30-run mark.

Mark Wood was the stand-out bowler for England, claiming 3 wickets by conceding 31 runs in his four overs. Chris Jordan (2-35) also chipped in with a couple of scalps while leg-spinner Adil Rashid (0-26) bowled economically.
In reply, the visitors rode on Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 83 off 52 balls to overhaul the target with 8 wickets in hand and 10 balls to spare. Jonny Bairstow was another notable contributor with the bat, scoring 40* off 28 deliveries.
England lost two wickets in their innings. While Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed Jason Roy for 9, Washington Sundar removed Dawid Malan (18).
Cricket experts lauded England for their clinical performance in the third game, which gave them a 2-1 lead in the T20I series.
