Team India on Sunday (March 14) registered a resounding 7-wicket victory over England in the second game of the five-match T20I series at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Invited to bat first, England posted 164/6 in 20 overs. Opener Jason Roy was the top-scorer for the visitors with 35-ball 46.
For India, Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur were the stand-out bowlers, taking 2 wickets by conceding 29 runs each in their respective four overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1-28) was also economical with the ball and claimed the prized scalp of Jos Buttler for nought.
In reply, the hosts rode on debutant Ishan Kishan’s blazing 32-ball 56 and skipper Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 73 off 49 balls to overhaul the target with 13 balls to spare.

With this win, India also squared the T20I series 1-1 with three more games still to be played.
