England pacer Jofra Archer was excited to bowl first in the first T20I against India as there was dew in the later half when they practiced the previous night.

Team India were put in to bat first after losing the toss. Jofra Archer, Chris Jordan and Mark Wood expressed themselves with pace as they bowled bullets to the Indian batsmen. The Indians were quickly pushed to the wall at 20/3 and then 48/4 with Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant back in the hut.

Jofra Archer told reporters after the match, "I was excited to bowl first because there was a bit of dew when we trained the other night... getting on top of the conditions gave us a little bit of an advantage. It was a very good team performance on a slow wicket."

Indian skipper Virat Kohli was out for a five-ball duck against Adil Rashid, still finding form in international cricket post COVID-19.

"He is a dangerous batter. To see him back early in the innings so many times is a bonus. It's kind of a dampener in their camp obviously being the leader of the side they expected him to score some runs. So it was some advantage to get him early," the pacer added.

England are now 1-0 up in the five-match T20I series but they are not taking things lightly at the moment as Team India is ranked only behind them in the ICC Team Rankings for T20I cricket.

"It's just the first game of the series. We still have four games to go. They are No 2 in the world for a reason," Archer concluded.
