IND v ENG 2021: “India are a difficult team team to beat in their own backyard,” admits Eoin Morgan

Eoin Morgan also spoke about the fitness of his camp.

Indian team | BCCIEngland captain Eoin Morgan admitted that India is a difficult side to beat, especially in their own home, but the visitors would do everything they can in their power. The first of the five T20I matches begins on March 12 onwards at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

Morgan also said that England could get an idea of where they stand heading into this year's World Cup at the end of their limited-overs series against India.

"It is going to be from our point of view a learning process, going through what positions we might find ourselves in seven month's time at the World Cup, with a perfect case scenario that we are playing against one of the best sides in the world, in their backyard and we know they are very difficult to beat," Morgan said.

Jofra Archer annoyed at Michael Vaughan questioning his commitment to Tests

Morgan was addressing a pre-match press conference and said the Virat Kohli-led India are a very difficult side to beat in their backyard and the limited-overs matches will be a challenge for his team.

"I do, I probably replicate the answer. India is the team to beat given we are playing them away from home. They are a very difficult side to beat in India. Given that the World Cup is here, I do think they will enter the World Cup as favorites, so this is going to be a great test for us and a great challenge and throughout the whole tour and not just for T20s,” Morgan said.

He also confirmed that every England player including Jofra Archer is fit and available for selection, but didn’t reveal the playing Xi for the first T20I.

"Yeah, everybody is fit to play and Jofra is available for the series," he said.
