Kevin Pietersen slammed England team management for not answering questions about the Test series debacle against India and putting the players in the firing line.
Pietersen’s criticism was directed towards England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chief Tom Harrison, Director of Cricket Ashley Giles, and selector Ed Smith. According to him, all three are answerable to why the English team fared poorly in the longest format of the game in India and lost 3-1.
Instead, the players are being questioned about whether they will be choosing to play the IPL and miss out on the start of the home Test series against New Zealand. The 40-year-old is not happy with the players being made to answer to the press instead of those managing the team and thus, the players.
Pietersen tweeted, “So the PLAYERS are now being quizzed by media every day about IPL and playing early Test matches in England. First the youngster, Curran & now Jos. The questions should be at Harrison, Giles & Smith! Not seen them front up to India debacle?! Leave the players out of this!”
