IND v ENG 2021: WATCH- Ishant Sharma felicitated by President Ramnath Kovind and HM Amit Shah for his 100th Test

Ishant Sharma had made his debut in 2007 against Bangladesh at the age of 19.

Ishant is only the 11th Indian and only the 2nd Indian fast bowler to play 100 Tests after Kapil Dev (131). The 32-year-old had made his debut in 2007 against Bangladesh at the age of 19 and became the leader of the Indian pace attack when Zaheer Khan retired in 2015.

Ishant, who hails from Delhi, has 302 Test wickets in 99 Tests before this match with the best bowling performance of 7/74 which came against England at Lord’s in London. He has also played 80 ODIs and 14 T20I matches for India, picking 115 and 8 wickets respectively.

Before the start of the first day’s play between India and England at Motera, Ishant Sharma was felicitated by the President of India Sh. Ramnath Kovind and the home minister Amit Shah.

The President had come to inaugurate the refurbished stadium in Ahmedabad, while Amit Shah announced that the stadium will be now known as the Narendra Modi Stadium.
