Team India received some good news on Monday (February 22) as experienced fast bowler Umesh Yadav has passed his fitness test in Ahmedabad ahead of the pink-ball Test against England, starting on Wednesday. BCCI confirmed that the pacer has been added to the squad for the last two Test matches of the four-match series.

In a official release, BCCI said: "Team India fast bowler Umesh Yadav appeared for a fitness test on Sunday, 21st February at Motera. He has cleared his fitness test and has been added to the squad for the last two Tests of the ongoing Paytm India-England Test series. Shardul Thakur has been released from the squad to take part in the Vijay Hazare Trophy."

Umesh Yadav had injured his calf muscle during the Boxing Day Test against Australia, and missed the remaining two Tests down under. He is one of only two Indian bowlers to take a five-wicket haul with the pink ball in Tests along with Ishant Sharma, and his inclusion will be a big boost for Virat Kohli's team.
