Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune is all set to reportedly host all three One Day Internationals between India and England next month.

According to a report in the Indian Express, MCA President Vikas Kakatkar has informed that Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium is all set to host the three-match ODI series against England.

All preparations for the ODI series are in full swing with the Gahunje Stadium’s wickets and outfield being prepared to the usual high standards for the high-profile series between India and England.

The three-match ODI series between Virat Kohli and Eoin Morgan’s teams will start on March 23 followed by the second ODI on March 26 and the final on March 28 respectively.

It is being said that the commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Krishna Prakash has already paid a visit to the stadium last week to review the security arrangements and the stadium in Pune.

The MCA has also reportedly revealed that Alok Kumar, Zonal Operations Manager, BCCI Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), BCCI Advance Party Manager Mr. Prashanat Bisht, and the STAR SPORTS representatives also visited and inspected the safety plans and check all the telecast facilities at the stadium for the forthcoming ODI series against England.

The report further revealed that the MCA has decided to play the matches on three separate main pitches; providing teams a fresh wicket for every ODI between India and England since there are three back-to-back matches at the MCA Stadium.

There were reports that the final ODI may be shifted to Mumbai to facilitate the team’s departure from Mumbai to the UK, but the final decision about the same is awaited.

Noteworthy, the MCA official has said that the decision on allowing crowds at the stadium for the ODI series is likely to be taken in early March, while the ticket prices and crowd capacity will be announced based on the government decision.
