Mumbai batsman Suryakumar Yadav has finally got his maiden call-up to play for the Indian cricket team. On Saturday (February 20), BCCI announced the Team India squad for the T20I series against England.

Suryakumar was delighted to see his name in the squad and he tweeted about his feeling. He has been working hard and performing well for a long time but still couldn't make his debut for the national team.

"The feeling is surreal," the 30-year-old tweeted on Sunday after the inclusion to the Indian side.

Suryakumar was very disappointed after missing out on the Australia tour. It was during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 when BCCI announced the limited-overs side for the tour Down Under but he wasn't given a chance. He had played a match-winning knock of 79* runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore after the squad was announced.

After the match, Mumbai Indians (MI) Rohit Sharma revealed, "We were sitting in our team room and I could feel he was dejected. But I didn't go and speak to him. It was he who came up and said, 'Don't worry I will get over it and win the matches for MI'."

India's squad for five-match T20I series starting on March 12: Virat Kohli (capt), Rohit Sharma (vc), KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Yuzvendra Chahal, Varun Chakravarthy, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Rahul Tewatia, T Natarajan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini and Shardul Thakur.
