IND v ENG 2021: Wasim Jaffer tweets NASA’s Mars landing photo to describe Indian pitches and bowlers

Jaffer's tweet came after England experts criticized Chennai pitch for second Test

Indian team | BCCIFormer India opener Wasim Jaffer is on a roll with his social media game and in his recent post, shared a photo of NASA’s photo of Mars landing and described it as an Indian pitch and how it will help the Indian bowlers.

To describe that Indian bowlers Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, and Mohammed Siraj can perform well on any surface, Jaffer shared a screenshot of what appeared to be of a planet from the official streaming of NASA's Mars landing.

IND v ENG 2021: Final ODI likely to be shifted to Mumbai for smooth departure of England team

It looks a dry surface conducive for spin. Ash and Jaddu will be unplayable. Boom, Shami, Umesh, Ishant, Siraj will cause havoc with reverse swing as ball will get scuffed up after 3 overs. Team India's bowling attack suitable for all conditions,” Jaffer tweeted.

This tweet came after the Chennai pitch for the second Test match was criticized a lot for turning from day one. England experts and former cricketers went as far as calling the surface unsuitable for Test cricket, just because it spun a lot.

On the other hand, the likes of Shane Warne were among those who believed if two Indian batsmen – Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin – can score centuries on the same track, then it can’t be referred to as poor. India slammed more than 600 runs on that pitch, while England was bowled out for 134 and 164.

The third Test, a D/N affair will begin from February 24 onwards at the New Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad.
