Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara got hit on his hand while batting on Day 1 of the second Test match against England in Chennai and didn't take the field on Day 2.

Pujara got hit on his hand from a pacy delivery from Olly Stone that got some extra bounce off the wicket. It has added to the body blows the 33-year-old has been taking for the last 2 months across Australia and India.

In the first innings of the second Test, Pujara scored 21 runs off 58 deliveries before edging one to Ben Stokes in the slips off the bowling of Jack Leach.

The hit from Stone meant that Cheteshwar Pujara couldn't field on the second day of the second Test match in Chennai. He was replaced by Mayank Agarwal on the day. The extent of the injury is not yet known and thus it is early to say whether he will bat in the second innings, if required, or not.
