Former England spinner Monty Panesar has suggested the Test series between India and England should be named after Sachin Tendulkar and Sir Alastair Cook, the two greats of their respective cricket teams.
Panesar tweeted that both the batsmen have scored the highest Test runs for their country and the series between them should be called as "Tendulkar Cook trophy". While Tendulkar is the highest run-getter in Test cricket, Cook is fifth on the list.
"Eng v India test series should be called "Tendulkar Cook trophy " because both have the highest test runs for their countries, they played a lot against each other and we know Tendulkar is the biggest legend and we don't have a series named after him. @englandcricket @BCCI #INDvENG," Panesar tweeted.
When a fan suggested the series to be named after him and Harbhajan Singh, he replied it isn't possible as he doesn't have 300 wickets in Test cricket.
Panesar also added another suggestion with the name of ex-cricketers Michael Vaughan and Rahul Dravid as 'Vaughan-Dravid' Trophy.
