England defeated India by 227 runs in the opening Test in Chennai on Tuesday (February 9). The Joe Root led side were criticized for their decision to not declare in the second innings.
England were bowled out on 178 in their second innings. Cricket pundits believed they could have declared their innings instead of dragging it despite having the advantage of a huge lead. Many felt the batting-heavy India side could make England pay for their decision by drawing the match on the fifth day.
However, it turned out to be an easy victory for England as they bowled out India on 192 runs. The official account of England cricket on Instagram posted a picture of Root asking for DRS and took a jibe at those who questioned their decision of not declaring.
"Everyone who moaned about the declaration yesterday ???? ???? #INDvENG #Cricket #EnglandCricket", wrote England Cricket on Twitter.
English fast bowler Stuart Broad tagged Michael Vaughan and roasted him as he was among those who slammed Root for not declaring the innings.
"Think that's aimed at you @michaelvaughan?!", read Broad's comment.
