England skipper Joe Root stunned India's vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane with an outstanding one-handed catch on the third day of first Test. Rahane was new to the crease when he ended up playing Dom Bess' full toss delivery, which dipped in the air, to Root.
It wasn't a straight-forward catch for the English captain. Root had to take a dive on his left to pull off a stunner and send Rahane back to the pavilion. The India batsman could only manage 1 run in the first innings and got out leaving India in trouble.
India's score read 73/4 when Rahane got out and they had already lost Virat Kohli to the same bowler a couple of overs back.

Root's catch got him more appreciation in the match. Having scored a double hundred earlier, he has already created a lot of trouble for India.
India's innings got back on track a bit after Rishabh Pant counter attacked with Cheteshwar Pujara. Both the players were batting unbeaten on a half-century till the tea break on day three. But Pujara ended up giving his wicket to Bess after 73 runs in the last session.
