Former England captain Michael Vaughan criticized Team India for their lack of energy and spring on the second day of the ongoing Test match between India and England and said that India’s body language did not show that they are the best team in the world.

England on account of skipper Joe Root’s 218 had another dominating outing against India in the ongoing Chennai Test as the visitors piled up a mammoth 555/8 in their first innings till stumps on Day 2.

However, Indian bowlers after toiling for 180 overs in the first Test of the series and are yet to extract any notable help from the wicket and did not look sharp on the field either.

IND v ENG 2021: India without Ravindra Jadeja gives England a sniff, says Michael Vaughan

“Didn’t see the spring, didn’t see the energy and the mindset of a team which will basically say to England that we’re the best in the world, we’ve just beaten Australia by our second-string side by the end of the series.

"We are best in the world and we are going to dominate you guys in our backyard but I didn’t see that from India today. This is something that Virat and Ravi Shastri will address going ahead,”  Michael Vaughan told Cricbuzz.

Vaughan further said that India’s overall approach was nice but they have to show that they are the dominant force.

“If anything, India appeared to be very nice. Virat’s body language was very nice with the cramp thing with Root I'm all for that but there has to be that balance of playing it tough. You’ve got to let the opposition know that you are the dominant force and India should be feeling that way after their recent success in Australia but I didn’t see any of that,” he concluded.

Team India have bowled 20 no balls and have dropped three catches till now in England's first innings.
