The ongoing first Test match between India and England marked a special moment for Joe Root, as the England skipper joined an elite club of players who have played 100 Tests for the country.
Root became just the 15th Englishman in 144 years of Test cricket to have appeared in a hundred Test matches.
The stylish right-handed batsman was handed a special cap by his teammate Ben Stokes and England national selector Ed Smith presented him with a special memento on the occasion.

Joe Root, who made his debut against India in 2012-13 tour and also played his 50th Test against the same opponent, has scored 8,249 runs with 19 centuries and 49 half-centuries before this Test.
Apart from Root playing his 100th Test, wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler also received a special cap on the occasion of playing his 50th Test.
England players also wore black armbands as a mark of respect for inspirational war veteran Captain Sir Tom Moore, who passed away this week at the age of 100.
