IND v ENG 2021: Virat Kohli says “Indian team had a 'brief discussion' over farmers' protest”

Kohli had urged for unity in a tweet regarding protests.

Kohli with Team India | BCCI TwitterTeam India captain Virat Kohli, during a virtual press conference on Thursday (Feb 4), said that the entire team had a brief discussion on the ongoing farmers’ protest in the nation’s capital Delhi. The protestors want the union government to withdraw the new agriculture farm laws.

Kohli said that during the discussion in his team meeting where everyone has "expressed their views" on the ongoing protests. However, he didn’t divulge the details of the "brief" conversation on the matter.

"We briefly spoke about it (the farmer's protests) in our team meetings and everyone's expressed on social media what they had to," Kohli said when asked about the agitation that has been going on for over two months.

On Wednesday, Kohli was among a host of Indian cricket stars, including Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Rohit Sharma, and others, who urged for unity in the country after some international celebrities like US popstar Rihanna and activist Greta Thunberg posted tweets in respect to the protests.
