IND v ENG 2021: “Looking forward to England series,” KL Rahul says on his way to Chennai

KL Rahul has been named in India's squad for first two Tests vs England.

KL Rahul had injured his wrist ahead of the Sydney Test in Australia | TwitterIndia’s opener KL Rahul had been missing in action after appearing in the white-ball series against Australia. He was not in India's playing XI for the first two Test matches in Adelaide and Melbourne.

But when India was looking for players in the third Test in Sydney, KL Rahul was in line to make his Test return. However, he was hit on his wrist during nets two days before the 3rd Test and was ruled out of the Test series and returned back without playing a Test match.

He went to the NCA in Bengaluru to rehab and was named in India’s squad for the first two Tests against England, to be played in Chennai on February 5 and February 13. KL Rahul recently posted a photo of himself on Instagram boarding a private small plane to travel to Chennai after seemingly completing his rehab.

He also said in the caption that he is proud to represent India and said it will be fun catching up with his teammates again. However, Rahul will need to undergo 6 days of mandatory quarantine in Chennai, and this might mean that he in all possibility will not be available for the first Test starting Feb 5.

Glad to have completed my rehab strong. No better feeling than being back fit and healthy. Always fun to get back with the boys, and an honor to represent India. Looking forward to the home series,” KL Rahul posted.
