The preparations for the first Test between India and England have begun at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. The first of the two Tests to be played at Chepauk will begin from Feb 5. 

Both Indian and England teams completed their 6-day mandatory quarantine at the Leela Palace Hotel in Chennai and cleared the mandatory COVID tests as well, getting permission to begin outdoor sessions and nets which begin tomorrow. 

England’s Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Rory Burns have already begun their practice as they arrived in India before their teammates who arrived from Sri Lanka.

BCCI on Monday (February 1) shared photos of Team India players after their first outdoor practice in Chepauk on their official Twitter account.
