IND v AUS 2023: WATCH- Virat Kohli deliberately collides with Marcus Stoinis during third ODI

India lost the third ODI to Australia by 21 runs and the series 1-2.

Virat Kohli and Marcus Stoinis had a moment during the 3rd ODI | TwitterIndia was at the losing end in the third ODI to Australia in Chennai on March 22 and also lost the series 1-2. This was despite Virat Kohli scoring a valiant 54 while trying to keep his team in hunt of the 270-run target.

Australia had posted 269 runs with Mitchell Marsh top-scoring with 47 while Mohammad Shami and Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets apiece. Then despite Virat Kohli’s 54 and Hardik Pandya’s 40, India could only manage 248 runs as Adam Zampa took 4/45 to rout Indians.

Thanks to this series win, Australia also became the new no.1 ranked team in ODIs, dethroning India.

During the Indian innings in the 21st over, Stoinis was walking back to his mark after bowling a dot ball to KL Rahul. Kohli, who was at the other end, just casually walked towards him and bumped into Stoinis deliberately. The former Indian captain also gave a stern look after the chest bump but it was all done in good spirits.

Recently on the AB de Villiers’ YouTube channel, Virat Kohli talked about the equation between the Indian and Australian players and the former India captain credited the IPL for reducing the animosity between the players from the two nations while not harming their competitive spirits.

He had said: "The IPL has changed quite a few things. The cricket is still competitive but the verbals and the sledging is not nasty anymore. It has become a game of mutual respect and admiration. Still, you can say that they have the same hunger. The stuff which was too intense and things that created tension between the teams has significantly gone down, that's what I have experienced this year but not the competitiveness.”
